Follow our intern Georgie’s journey through her vlogs!

07 March 2017

Georgie is 20 and is now half way through her year’s internship with us. She has been making a great contribution to our learning as well as learning lots herself about the world of work. She's been recording some great video blogs, which we're sharing here as well as on our Facebook page.

Georgie’s main focus is on one-page profiles (she has had a profile herself since she was a little girl so is certainly an expert by experience!), person-centred reviews and young people’s participation. Georgie is a member of the National Young People’s Advisory Group for the Council for Disabled Children and is on a local group feeding into the Safeguarding Children Board in her area.

Georgie had recently developed her guide to one-page profiles and has been getting fantastic feedback when she has presented this at events. She has recently presented this to schools and children’s services in England and Wales and has more events planned in coming months.

Georgie is working on her guide to young people’s groups and will be starting to think about her guide to person-centred reviews soon too.

As well as her work, Georgie has been gaining great confidence in travelling on her own and staying away overnight. It is wonderful to see her grow!

Here are her video blogs. She’s done three so far, but if you’d like to stay tuned, like our page on Facebook to see her new ones as they come out.

1: Georgie talks about putting together materials for our SEND Radicals online course

2: Georgie talks about her work with the Milton Keynes Children’s Safeguarding Board

3: Georgie talks about the importance of looking and listening to gain rich information to support people better when developing one-page profiles
